Val, sorry he is gone!
If you are sure it is gone, can you fill the hole back up? Or put mouse traps to deter the undesirables? Or...if you can't fill it, spray with bobcat urine? You'll unfortunately deter everything, but at least you won't have unwanted snakes moving in...

Better start filling it up.
New rider on the bus asked how to hatch goose eggs. So I asked what kind of goose? She doesn't know, her son found them by a local lake. Ooops. I told her put them back, there is at least one pair of canada geese on that lake and it is a fed offense to bother them and a big fine. She was trying to hatch them in a box with a heat lamp.

Yeah, people shouldn't be messing with critters in nature. I said something about filling in the hole. Dave wants to wait a bit longer and make sure the gopher's not still in there before we do.

LOL, I think I'll pass on spraying bobcat urine around my porch! I use it and you can only smell it until it dries.
