wow the most I have ever had to wait is 20 minutes for a prescription and since it is in my grocery store, i get groceries while I wait. the dollar stores here are constantly shifting things around, walmart rarely does

The people at our Walmart say they constantly change it because it makes people look for stuff they need. In doing so, they often find other things and make impulse buys. So, they've found a way to get people to impulse buy all over the store, instead of just at the register.

Yeah, hearing about the dollar stores doing that didn't exactly make my day. You'd think that stores would make it easy for their customers to find what they need.

I stopped going to HEB mainly because they do that. I'm with Granny, the biggest reason for patronizing the same store regularly is that you know where everything is. If they switch things around, that is negated. Many's the time I walked out frustrated because I had not found what I wanted. And if I don't find what I want, I don't buy other things. I just don't buy what I want.
Our Walmart is not too bad about that, although when I was looking for aspirin the other day, they had moved the aspirin aisle. Still, it was in the pharmacy area, which isn't that big.

Well, I'm getting ready to try out Zenni later today. My glasses fell apart a couple of weeks ago and I've been having to wear my old glasses. I see ok with them and I can see to drive, but they aren't real clear. The bifocal is like nothing, worse than the newer ones. So we finally got enough left over after paying bills that Mike called Walmart optical and made an eye appointment for me today at 3 PM. I'll probably get an argument out of them, but I want single lense glasses for distance and separate reading glasses. So that means two different Rx's. The bifocal is murder on my neck when I'm cooking or washing dishes or doing anything else that makes me look out the bottom of the glasses, but it isn't close enough for the bifocal to focus on.

It would have never occurred to me that sort of close work would cause problems if you wore bifocals, but I can see where they would. That might be why my sister got trifocals, to have that mid-range vision.

I just finished ordering glasses. I'm getting my distance glasses and separate reading glasses. They had a different optometrist there and I like her better than the other one. She had no problem understanding why I did not want bifocals. She said I've got the beginnings of cataracts in both eyes . Not enough to worry about now, but that's probably what's causing some of my glare when I'm driving at night. Said when the light hits the cataract it acts like a prism and distorts it. Both pair are costing me a total of $65. Not bad when glasses usually cost me over $200. Susan

Susan, are they not treating your cataracts to keep them from getting worse?

I did some reading and I think the general consensus is not do anything until they really affect your vision, then surgically remove them. So I started reading what can cause them and natural things to do to stop them. Ultraviolet light is the worst and not wearing sunglasses. Well, duh. They just don't make clip ons that fit most of the frames I have so I just don't wear sunglasses. Several meds that can influence the formation of them is steroids, even topical. I have a form of dermatitis on my face and scalp that is possibly psoriasis. I used to use a prescription steroid cream from a dermatologist until it ran out. Now I just use over the counter one's if needed. Things that can help SLOW them(once you have them they can't go away without surgery) is B complex vitamins, sunglasses and for me not using that cream on my face anymore. Susan

Did you order some clip-ons for the glasses you ordered from Zenni? They're cheaper there than anyplace I've seen them.

I didn't order any, but went back and looked. I don't think they have any for the frames I ordered. Maybe I'm not looking right.

There should be a box to check at the bottom of the order form if you want them for about $4. Some come with the glasses at no extra charge. It's possible that some of the glasses don't have them, though. I ordered them for about half of the glasses I ordered, but I also got all of the kids prescription sunglasses for $8 or $9. They were tickled to death about those.

Here's the # for the one's I ordered. Distance is 314111 and reading is 210216. It doesn't show anywhere to order clip on's.
