I picked up some candles at Walmart yesterday.I noticed when I was unwrapping them that they were made in the USA.

I bought some USA oranges and a USA Christmas tree today. I bought a Christmas shirt to wear to Dave's mom's on Christmas Eve, though, and I forgot to see where it was made. Probably Sri Lanka or someplace like that! I have the hardest time remembering to check!

I've been checking for about 2 years and I still forget now and then. I bought some Chinese strawberries (Polar). I threw them out, but kept the jar because it was cool.

Hm...I went to the link, and noticed an ad off to the left for 'Import Specialty Auto'...and then I noticed at the bottom that it says something like 'use caution when clicking the google ads, they are not necessarily for things made in the USA'
So the person who went to all this trouble and work to make the lists is raising funds with ads from anywhere. Oops!

We planned to by an "amish" heater for the house. They ran a huge ad in the paper saying that Sears was goin to be carrying the "amish" heaters. It showed an amish buggy delivering the mantles. Later they ran a caution ad to be careful and not by imitation "amish heaters. Well, we bought one from the farms stores here. No mantle just the heater. Its the same kind with one huge difference. These non-amish heaters exactly like the amish heaters made in china are made in Montana. I knew the amish didnt make the heaters just the mantle but it really ticks me off that they are selling junk from China.

Gayle, they still make steel here, but I think a bunch of it goes overseas to make products.

I knew they closed Bethlehem Steel. I guess I just assumed that was the last one open.

That's really good to know. I thought we'd closed them all and had become dependent on foreign steel.
