It's that time of year again. Halloween spooky foods! This year I am planning...
Toast ghosts with mud for breakfast. Lunch will be Eyeball subs and spooky ghosts with ecto~plasm to drink. For snack we will be having caterpillars, and for dinner we will be dining on Monster mouths and bloody punch. Desert will be blood worms served from a frothing cauldron. I have the movie Pet Cemetery for us to watch and (if that's to scary for some)Toy Story's "scary" Halloween.

My kids like horror movies and they both agree that Pet Cemetery is the absolute scariest movie ever made.

Yikes, I read that book, I wouldn't watch the movie. Toy Story for me.
I was planning to make dragon shaped bread for a giant sandwich tomorrow...but in my mind, the dragon had olive eyes, and I don't have olives. Why didn't I think about this?

Well, the dragon looks like a giant fat alligator, which is okay...except I'm realizing I forgot to add gluten, so I'm afraid (since I used beans for 1/3 of the flour) that it's going to be more like a giant biscuit than a loaf. Ah, well. I'll take a picture before I start slicing. It's in the oven now.

I saw it, too. It was a cute dragon! I made a dragon cake once. It was supposed to blow smoke out the nose. The recipe called for dry ice (like 3 little chunks) but I could only find huge blocks of it, so I stuck an incense cone in his nose instead.

Okay, so, my pan was too short, so he ended up kinda fat and curvy (hm...like me...). And I wanted his head bigger, and I kept putting dough on it, but it just spread instead of rising up (stupid gravity), so his head as round. Ah, well. If you click on those, I believe you'll be taken to a larger image. It tasted just fine. I was a little disappointed - I had no more pickles (we ate them ALL) and no more canned peppers (I really wanted a red tongue...). I did find olive, but without pimentos, so the pupils were cloves. And my oldest got some almonds to place for teeth (and they ate the almonds, so it worked out fine).

LOL! You guys are crazy!!! Love it!!!
Sandra, I love how you made him into a giant sandwich! Looks great to me, like a komodo dragon! Long as it has eyes, teeth, and a tongue, you are good.
Ain't it great to play with the food?
I got this book when the kids were little, called Special Effects Cookbook. If you can find an old one in a library or online, y'all should get it. Tons of fantastic ideas in there.
