Howdy, neighbor! I'm in Kentucky, too. Welcome to the forum!
I encourage you to print recipes! It's way too hard to use them if you have to keep running back to the computer! I keep mine in binders, so they're all together, sorted by subject, and easy to work from.

Hi! I'm Millie. I live in the Pacific Northwest in the country. I have 4 girls (3 living at home, one in the college dorm), 3 dogs, 3 cats, one dog that we are babysitting, and 7 chickens. Oh and one very patient and loving husband. I love to cook and am very excited about this new forum!

I'm Jenni...also in KY. I have one little boy (Granny Smith's grandson). I am still wishing and working for a homestead...not much grows in my apartment.

I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Gayle (aka Granny Smith). I am married to Dan and we have 9 children (yours, mine, and ours). Five of them live at home, all teenagers. I have homeschooled them for the past 9 years, as I was very dissatisfied with the schools here. I, also, have one grandson, who I love very much, but his mean old mother never brings him to visit. (Will you be coming by this weekend, Jenni? ) We live on 65 acres in eastern Kentucky and raise chickens, goats, rabbits, and one llama (he was free, so I couldn't pass him up). We also have an organic garden, orchard, vineyard, and quite a number of small beds, mostly filled with herbs or strawberries. I believe in an edible landscape. I work most of the gardens by myself. I found it was easier than trying to keep 5 kids corralled. I like the peace. I am, originally, from Michigan (the Detroit area), but moved to the country when I was 29, 23 years ago. I have been in Kentucky for almost 15 years and love it. It feels like home. I love to cook, most of the time, and I love to experiment with food, especially things we seldom think about making at home. A lot of the recipes I post are ones that I've developed, just to see if I could. It's much easier to make things from scratch than one would think.

Hello all.......I'm mrs oz. I live in SC.......not on a homestead. We've got 17 acres up in NC that we're tryin' to get to. Have built a barn that we're putting a loft apartment in. So, we're gettin' there slowly but surely. I do cook a lot and garden a lot. Our house is on the market in SC, so it's just a container garden this year. Certainly not to the point of the garden sustaining us in the veggie dept. Can't wait to share recipes with you all. I'm always looking for new ones. Thanks Gayle for setting this up. I think it's going to be great!!
