I saw somewhere the other day, they said the rotting wood is high in a lot of minerals, so you might not even need it!

Good point. I thought of another reason to add peat. Our soil is extremely base from all the wood ash in the tornado. Peat moss is acid. I figure the two of them will make good soil.
