What do y'all think about milk kefir? The dairy who provides our milk just started offering if last week, and I got a quart to try. My first impression was that it tasted like sour cream, just thinner, and with a touch of a tingle. By time I finished that little sample, I was hooked. Last night, I was tossing and turning, and was actually craving some! I almost got up in the middle of the night to drink some! But I didn't. I think I'm going to see about getting some grains and making my own. I really like it! PS - the dairy put "The Champagne of Milk" on the label! I love their labels. The raw milk has a pic of the cutest calf, and it actually says Raw Milk for Calves; Not for Human Consumption (making it legal for them to sell). Their cheese has a cow with a word balloon that says "The Way God Intended".

I haven't been able to learn to like it - I prefer (and make and drink regularly) home cultured buttermilk.
I had some grains for a long time, and the process isn't difficult, but again, I couldn't get into the taste and was using it instead in cooking...so I quit it :-)

Yeah, I can definitely tell this is not a taste for everyone. My husband won't even taste it.

I like it ok, but I have a hard time keeping up with doing it and my grains always die.
