I let my friends know when I am firing up the smoker if I have extra space. Last weekend someone asked me to smoke a chicken for them & I did it on the beer can stand. I put it in brine of 1 cup pickling salt & a gallon of water for a day. Then I dried it off & covered with olive oil followed with some rub with no salt. It looked amazing & I wanted to rip off a leg to taste it but couldn't cause it was for my friend. Anyway whole chicken is on sale this week so I picked up 3 to do tomorrow. Will let you know the results.

Sorry I forgot to let you know the results. I bought 3 chickens & needed 2 more beer can stands but could only find one more in town. Turns out that I could not fit 3 on lower rack & the top rack was did not have enough vertical room for another stand. I just stuck half a can of beer & apple juice in it breast down & kept the open end of the can up so it would not drain out. Did same thing with olive oil & rub & it came out awesome. I used apple wood this time. I made chicken salad with the leftovers which was a big hit for lunch the next day. Will definitely make this more regularly.
