Thanksgiving dinner costs $.37 more this year. The largest price increases this year were for sweet potatoes, dairy products and pumpkin pie mix, according to the Farm Bureau. But a 16 pound turkey is $.11 cheaper. If you are average the home-cooked dinner will cost $49.41. Hawaii and Alaska residents will naturally pay the most. Hilo residents would pay $79.11 for the feast while Honolulu dwellers would pay $76.73, cheaperaccording to NerdWallet. Kodiak residents would pay $65.12 for their turkey dinners, while those in Juneau would dine for $65.07. Texas is the cheapest place to prepare a home-cooked Thanksgiving meal. www.cbsnews.com/news/thanksgiving-dinner-the-state-where-it-costs-the-most/I do not thank the Lord often enough that I live in Texas.
