The retailing behemoth dropped several ratings points in the American Customer Satisfaction Index, an independent national benchmark of consumer experiences of products and services sold to U.S. consumers. After a tough year that included inroads from rivals and weaker sales, the retailer landed at the bottom of several of the survey's rankings, making it the worst-rated department, discount and grocery store. "They are not as dominant on the price side as they were, and the quality still isn't there," VanAmburg told CBS Moneywatch. www.cbsnews.com/news/meet-americas-most-hated-retailer/I generally find Walmart an inconvenient place to shop. I think the farther a person is from Walmart, the more convenient they are. In Texas, HEB generally beats Walmart on price.

In Minnesota, my local grocery store has better prices than Wal Mart, too. And the store is cleaner and better stocked. It's a cold day in hades when I ever go into Wal Mart.

We hit Walmart for our main shopping about once a month. That's pet foods, cat litter, phone cards(prepaid phones) and odds and ends. I'm not happy with how the store has gone down hill, but it's the only good size store in our town on this side of the state line. TN has almost 10% sales tax on everything. We do our main grocery shopping 20 miles north in the next city. That's Save A Lot, Aldi, butcher shop and sometimes Kroger. The larger Walmart there has a sewing section and better kitchen supplies. I stopped going to Kmart when they decided they needed to make the whole store smell "good" with an air freshener. Kroger carries the pet foods, but they cost more than Walmart. So even though the store is going down hill, it still has the better prices for what I buy.
