Here's how to cut the calories in your rice by more than half: Add a teaspoon of coconut oil to boiling water, then add half a cup of rice. Simmer for 40 minutes or boil for 20 to 25 minutes. The cooked rice should then go into the refrigerator for 12 hours, which means you'll need to cook it ahead of time. The researchers say this method causes the oil to enter in starch granules while it cooks and adds a protective layer, which ostensibly changes the structure of the rice granules so they becomes resistant to the digestive enzyme. www.cbsnews.com/news/adding-coconut-oil-to-rice-could-cut-calories-in-half/

I wonder if that would cause complications when you eat it, though, having all that half-digested rice in there.

I think it would be better to just eat less.

Every year I eat less. I figure I am now eating as much as I did in 5th grade. And I should be eating about as much as I did in 4th grade. As one gets old, eating less also gets old.

Yeah. Getting old ain't fer sissies, is it? My metabolism never was fast, but I think it is slower than ever. At least my weight doesn't usually fluctuate too much.

But as we get older we lose height. So if the weight stays the same, something is going in the wrong direction.
