Dollar General carries packets of Velveeta cheese sauce and packets of bacon bits. Those are what I used for this recipe.
Bacon Cheeseburger Sloppy Joes
1 lb. ground beef 1 medium onion (or however much you want), chopped 2-3 packets of Velveeta cheese sauce 1-2 packets of bacon bits (as much as you want)
Cook hamburger and onion until well done and most of the liquid has evaporated (there will be some grease left in the bottom of the pan, which you can drain if you want - I don't bother)
Remove from heat and stir in as much of the cheese as you like, but try not to make it too runny. Stir in however much bacon bits you like. I usually use 2 packs of cheese and 1 1/2 of bacon bits per pound of burger.
Serve hot on hamburger buns. Makes about a dozen sandwiches.
You can make a lot of this and freeze it in muffin tins. Pop them out and store, in the freezer, in ziplocks. To use, heat one meat muffin in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir, and heat for another 30 seconds. Put it on a bun and enjoy.
