I've been trying to make a sauce that tastes like Big Mac sauce. I even made one that was, supposedly, from a 1969 manager's handbook. None of them have been quite right. Today, I was sitting here, doing some research on something completely unrelated to food, when a 'recipe' popped into my head. It made so much sense, I got up and made it immediately. It turned out perfect!
What I realized is that the original sauce was, most likely, made of things they already had for their regular burgers - pickles, onions, mustard, ketchup, and mayonnaise. Instead of chopping pickles, I just used dill relish, but I'm sure chopped pickles would work fine. Anyway, here's what I came up with
OMG Big Mac Sauce
1 cup mayonnaise
1 T. ketchup
1 T. mustard
1 T. finely chopped raw onions
1 T. chopped dill pickles or dill relish
Mix well. Store in refrigerator.
Makes a little more than a cup.
*Update~ I've been experimenting with this and I believe it's even better if you use equal parts of everything. I made it today with 3T of everything, it made about a cup, and it's really good.
