Risotto is like the patron saint of my dinner - it seems to help prepare a satisfying dinner even with an empty kitchen staple. I am of the opinion that any home cook should learn the basic principles of risotto for a quick dinner without resorting to a recipe. Part of making a great risotto at home is knowing what mistakes to avoid along the way. There are a few general things you need to do when making risotto. There is risotto and there are variations such as risotto from orzo and barley - but no risotto without the right rice. If you're trying to make plain, basmati, or brown rice for risotto instead of actual risotto, you're getting a pot of boiled, runny rice. Risotto has a reputation for vibrant, long-running cooking, but that's not the case. Risotto can be picked up in as little as 15 minutes - especially if it's all prepared, and ready to use before you start. What other cooking tips might you add to get the best Risotto?

I started cooking more in quarantine. I love Risotto. I didn't think about these mistakes before either. Used regular rice, didn't cook enough. Tried adding avocado, making a sauce, turned out very cool. Only the avocado is better with lemon juice.
