Hot Fudge Sundae Cake ( Crock Pot) contributed by riverwalk
1 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cups sugar 2 Tablespoons baking cocoa 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup milk 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring 1/2 cup chopped nuts 3/4 cup pack brown sugar 1/4 baking cocoa 1 1/2 cups hot water
Spray inside of 2 - 3 1/2 quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, 2 T. cocoa, and salt in a medium bowl. Stir in milk, oil and vanilla until smooth. Stir in nuts. Spread batter evenly in bottom of cooker. Mix brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa in a small bowl. Stir in hot water until smooth. Pour evenly over batter in cooker. Cover and cook on high 2 - 2 1/2 hours or until toothpick comes out clean. Turn off cooker and let cake stand 30-40 minutes to cool slightly before serving. Spoon warm cake into dessert dishes and spoon sauce over top.
This can be served with favorite ice cream and cool whip and nuts and maraschino cherry on top
If you let the cake sit for the 30 - 40 minutes the sauce thickens to a good consistency, if you eat it sooner the sauce will be thinner but still good

OK, I'm making this today. Plain and simple.

I make this with carob powder, then pour hot coffee over the top. Yum!

Oh dang! Coffee and chocolate. That would be 'to die for' as a friend of mine used to say.

I let Belinda make this. She loves to cook. It will be done at 5:30, just in time for supper.
Valerie, I had to edit the recipe. It didn't say what to do with the 2 T. of cocoa. I added it to the dry ingredients mixture. That's how my Betty Crocker oven-baked recipe said to do it.
Also, I do one thing different than the recipe says. I mix the brown sugar and 1/4 cup of cocoa, and spread that over the batter. Then I pour the hot water (or coffee) over it, but don't mix it in. Again, a la Betty.

This stuff is so good. I just had another dish of it just now. I'd eat another if I had time, but I better get ready to leave or I'll be late. 'Twould be sad to get fired over a dish of cake! But not too sad.
