Sounds like the list on top of one of my tubs. I try to get some of everything when I go to the Dollar store. Even if its more than we will use theres always somebody else that will need it.

There's a tobacco store in town that carries really cheap discontinued and overstocked food, medicines, and other stuff. I get a lot of good bargains on these kind of things. Last week, I got a full-size tube of brand name toothpaste and a regular adult toothbrush (a good one), packaged together, for 75 cents. I bought nearly all they had, even though we didn't need them right now. Their stock changes all the time, so there's no telling what I might find when I go there.

Yes, those things are almost as important as actual food. I have a good many things purchased. I just need to get organized. I'm working on it, but don't expect to make a lot of progress till things cool down some around here.
If I could just quit having so many atomic meltdowns (AKA hotflashes) I might tolerate the heat better.

I'll have to see if that helps. Honestly, thought I'd be done with these by now.

I keep a stock of toilet paper, paper towels (cleaning animal messes), animal food, toothpaste, soap, laundry detergent, dish soap, extra dish towels put back, well, just about anything we could need and not be able to get a hold of if everything goes to pot.

Don't forget light bulbs. I was reading Cathy Buckle's newsletter (till I got too depressed over it and quit) and one post was about trying to get a single light bulb and all she went thru. So I stocked up. I got a bunch thru 1000bulbs online. They have some killer sales, just watch for them.

I stocked up on light bulbs when the government was saying they were going to phase out incandescent bulbs. I use fluorescent in some places (especially where they're hard to change, because they last longer), but I can see better with incandescent.
