Cantaloupe Sorbet From Taste of Home J/J 2010
1 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Water
4 Cups cubed cantaloupe 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
Boil sugar and water together to make a simple syrup. Put in the fridge to chill.
Put cantaloupe, lemon juice & syrup in food processor (I used the blender) for 2-3 minutes until blended.
Put in ice cream maker if you have it. I put mine in a cake pan in the freezer, with periodic beatings with a fork.

Oh, my goodness! That sounds delicious! I didn't plant any cantaloupe this year, but there's an old man who sells them from his garden and we always buy several. When they're on, I'm going to try this!

Definitely do! I tasted it when I was giving it a stir and it is amazing! I could sit down right now with the container and just have that for supper. And this didn't even use half of the cantaloupe I bought last night (one fruit!).

Today I was so hot when we came home, I scooped a good bit of this sorbet into a glass and filled it the rest of the way with sweet tea. Y'all! It was so good! It was like a slushie but so much better. If any of you make this, please try the tea thing, too.
