This is a very filling sandwich. Most people can only eat one.
For each sandwich, you'll need~
4 slices of bread cheese (your choice. I like shredded cheddar) 1 hamburger patty (don't make it too thick) bacon, optional butter (for the bread) condiments (mustard, ketchup, mayo, pickles, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, etc)
Butter one side of each slice of bread. Put 2 slices, butter side down, on a griddle (or in a skillet), top with cheese, cover with other 2 slices of bread, butter side up. (You're making grilled cheese sandwiches) Cook till both sides are nicely browned.
Meanwhile, in another pan, cook hamburger patty to your liking.
When everything is cooked, place hamburger on one of the sandwiches. Top with bacon, if you're using it. Top with condiments, as desired. Put other grilled cheese on top. Eat. (You might want to cut it in half first)

You can do this with a fish patty, too, altho I'd leave the bacon off myself.

My boys were still talking about these last night. Very few sandwiches make such an impression.
