Sweet Pickles with a Kick
1 quart dill pickle slices (hamburger chips) 2 oz Tabasco sauce (1/4 cup) garlic (a couple of cloves to a whole head, minced, depending on taste. I used a heaping teaspoon from a jar) sugar
Pour juice off pickles (you can save it for another use, if you want), then pour Tabasco sauce into jar. Add garlic, then fill the jar with sugar (yes, the whole jar, to the top)
Put on the lid and put the jar in the refrigerator for 24 hours. I agitated it a few times, to distribute and dissolve the sugar. This is ready to eat after 24 hours.
You can adjust the amount of garlic and heat you want to suit your own taste. I imagine these could also be made with pickle spears, but not with whole pickles.

These pickles sound good too. Didn't see it 'til today as went camping over the weekend. Thanks for trying it out, and glad your family really did like them.

I've been making these for yrs but not with the tabasco. I like to get the big jars of whole dills and slice them a little thicker than hamburger slices. I've got to try this with the hot sauce. That sounds yummy

I am going to experiment with this recipe. I will try to make a sugar free Bread and Butter variety using this method.
