I know CrossCreek has dairy goats. Does anyone else?
I've had Nubians for a little over 12 years now. Back when I first started with goats, I had six small children, and was bringing home about 5 or 6 gallons of milk from the store every week. (I once had a clerk ask me if I ran a daycare because I was buying so much at once!) I bought the goats primarily to get out of having to run to the grocery store every few days for more milk.
Now that the kids are older we are not drinking so much, but it's still nice to have fresh milk on hand.
I've just now cut the goats back to once-a-day milking. I always hesitate on doing that, because I know they'll dry up pretty soon that way, but it is fall. And, after so many months, it's nice to take a break from milking in the evenings.
Right now I'm still getting more than we're using, and am squirelling milk away in the freezer for when they dry up. It won't be enough, because I don't have that much room, but it'll be nice to have some.
Some of the does are "maybe" bred. I turned a young buck in with them when a couple of them came into heat. I'll just have to wait to see if the job got done. Probably sometime in the next month or so, I'll turn him in with them all again for awhile to be sure. All but maybe little Tilda, who is just not growing like I'd like her to.

If you will post a good clear picture of their backsides after they've been bred at least 2 months I may be able to tell you if they are pg. I can always tell on mine if they took or not. Make sure you are not holding their tails up, but you need to take the pix when they have their tails held all the way up by themselves.

Thanks. I expect I'll be able to tell before too long.

I have 3 Nubians... 1 female and 2 wethers. I am looking for a buck for my little Macy. I found one to "rent" but lost their email. I've had them for a year. They are soooo cute.

I'm very partial to Nubians. I love the ears, the personalities (for the most part ) and I love the fact that you never know what colors you will get when they kid.

We're looking for some goats but not milk goats. We just need some to clear about 1 1/2 acres of berrie vines. There is a lady down the road that has a male Boar goat she is going to give us, but he won't stay in the fence alone. We're looking for a couple does to go with him.
They don't have to be pure bread. I'm not able to milk because of my hands. The doe goats around here are exensive.

Wethers might be an option if you are not looking for them to reproduce.
