has anyone ever made this or is it just a regional dish? it is pretty basic summer veggies boiled up (small potaoes, beans, carrots, peas) drain liquid, add creme and butter and pepper and salt, serve

We do something similar, but with just green beans, potatoes, and, sometimes, onions, served with butter, salt, and pepper. I like the idea of adding more variety and adding cream. That sounds like it would be good. You could thicken the cream and use the leftovers for pot pie, too.

Evelyn, you must be good at cooking the amount you need. I tend to overcook, especially on side dishes.

We cook stuff like that. When we had pot roast for Sunday dinner I would mix all the side veggies for supper and served it with leftover roast and gravy.

granny i sometimes cook too much, i never know how hungry the boys are. hodge podge is so good i had seconds
