I'm almost afraid to ask, but what did you do?

I attempted Hobo dinners (hamburger, potatoes, onions carrots and cheese), bannock (biscuits on a stick) and cinnamon and sugar apples. In retrospect, I should have given the the dinners another layer of foil and put them around the edge. The apples turned out fine and once we figured out that the "biscuits" needed to be smaller they stopped falling off the sticks into the ashes. We ended up getting to eat one dinner (out of 6) , 4 apples and 5 biscuits. lol

Aren't you supposed to let the fire burn down to coals before you start cooking?

No wonder somebody invented the camp stove! They got tired of sitting around waiting.

I know! That's why I grill more in the winter than in the summer. It's too freakin' hot to stand out there roastin' over a grill! I want to cook in comfort!

It was a end of the school year treat. At least, it was supposed to be! The whole deal made a noise not unlike a greasy old man breaking wind.

What if you were to set the cans inside bigger cans with water in the bigger one, sort of like a bain-marie?
