Grandma's Chow-Chow
This is a relish. We like it with soup beans or on hot dogs.
4 c. chopped tomatoes (red, green or a combination) 2 large onions, diced 1 large bell pepper, diced 2 c. vinegar 1 c. sugar 1/2 t. salt pickling spices, to taste (I use about 1 rounded t. and tie them in a piece of cloth)
Combine all ingredients and cook until it's as thick as you like it (about 2 hours) Put in hot jars, adjust lids, HWB 10 minutes for pints.
