I just got my seeds ordered last night, late again, so I know I'll be behind getting my tomatoes and peppers in the ground. I wish I could find heirloom seeds around here. Walmart carried some last year, but I haven't seen them this year.

I need to go to the feed store (not the one I usually go to) They carry a wide variety of OP seeds and some, especially for sprouting (ie not treated). I don't know if they carry organic or not.
Somewhere around here, I have one of their catalogs. I'll have to find it and look. I forgot I had it!

I wish I could find heirloom seeds around here. Walmart carried some last year, but I haven't seen them this year. Susan Susan, when I went to town today I stopped at the Family Dollar store. They had a small cardboard box display of seeds. I got Fordhook Swiss Chard, Seven Top Greens turnip, Purple Top White Globe turnip and Giant Gray Stripe sunflower seeds. There were quite a few other types of seeds including broccoli, Yates collards, Little Marvel peas, straightneck squash, Sugar Baby melon, Danver's carrots and pickling cucumbers. The seed packets are 5 for $1 The packets are measured in grams but you can feel the seeds through the package to help determine how many seeds are in a packet. There were also quite a few varieties of flower seeds. If you have a Family Dollar store near you it might be worth a look.

Having MCS, I usually avoid Family Dollar, Dollar General because of the strong fragrances as soon as I walk in the door. I really hate that, too, because they have such great deals in them.

Susan, I have MCS too so I understand completely. For those of you that don't know what MCS is, it's Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. I've been avoiding exposures as much as possible for the last three years and it's helping.
When I go shopping I have to hold my breath a lot or tuck my nose and mouth under my jacket or shirt collar. I also do my best to avoid the other shoppers.
Maybe you could have someone you know check to see if the Family Dollar has seeds.
