2 cups of boiling water 1 cup dry rolled oats 2 packages dry yeast 1 tablespoon salt 1/2 cup honey 2 tablespoons melted butter 4 cups unsifted flour
Pour 2 cups of boiling water over 1 cup dry rolledoats in large bowl. Let stand for 1/2 hour until soft. While this is getting soft, soak 2 packages of dry yeast in 1/3 cup of lukewarm water. Add the salt, honey, and melted butter to the oats. Stir in yeast. Gradually add enough unsifted flour (may need 4-5 cups) to make dough kneadable. Knead for 5-10 minutes, adding flour as necessary. Work until smooth and elastic.Put dough into a big bowl (oil its surface) and coverwith a towel and place in warm spot to rise. You may let this dough risemore than one time. When it has doubled in size punch down and divide into two loaves. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes.
