Actually, I not only have this, I'm using from it right now. (Crazy -- we turned off our cell service months ago, but this little phone still gets wifi internet, like a tablet).
Anyway, I like the app much better than the regular web interface. I have all "my" proboards message boards in one page. I can bookmark threads I want to come back to, or view threads that have been updated since my last visit (as oposed to recent posts, like I do on the computer). If the keyboard on tjis phone weren't so small, I'd always read/post from here.
So, my take: is the app worth $3? Yes. Is it worth the cost of getting a phone/tablet to use it? No.

Sandra, probably the mobile version is Beta. Proboards is testing it for all their forums and, if it works out well, the web interface will be like that, too. I wish it was now. I've seen some of the sample sites and they're awesome.

Well, I have a dumb phone (but I like it that way) and no other electronic gizmos at this time, so I won't be able to admire the app. They make so many cool ones, I think it would be cool to get to use them, if only I didn't have to buy an expensive phone or subscribe to an expensive phone plan to get one!
