This is a small recipe, so there wouldn't be much wasted, if you don't like it. It only takes about 5 minutes to make, too, so there isn't a big time investment. I made it, and the kids liked it, but I can't try it because of the chocolate. I need other opinions, since kids like anything with sugar, peanut butter, or chocolate.
Fudgy Buttons
2 T. butter (no substitutes) 1 1/2 t. cocoa 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar 1/2 t. milk 2 T. creamy peanut butter
In a small pan, melt butter; remove from heat. Add cocoa and mix well. Stir in sugar. Add milk and stir until smooth. Add peanut butter and mix well. Drop by 1/2 teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper; flatten tops and shape into 'buttons'. Refrigerate until firm, about 10 minutes.

Oh, this is torture! My yeasty beasties are saying, yes, yes, make them. My will power is saying, NOOOOOO! For those who don't know me, I have an overgrowth of candida and I've had to swear off all sugar and carbs. Which is really hard for a chocoholic and peanutbutter nut.

It's killing me, too, Susan! Oh, how I wish I weren't allergic to chocolate! They really smelled good when I was making them. The kids say they taste like peanut butter cups, only with the texture of fudge.

I would love to try it..but can not because drew has the peanut/tree nut allergies..the smell of peanutbutter sets him off on a reaction. I wish I could do it though because I love chocolate and peanutbutter...

I'll try it Gayle, We'll see how it goes, Wonder if homemade butter and raw milk will have an effect on it though.

They are good Gayla, not real rich like a fudge would be, just right.

Well, 8 people have tested it - Shelby, 6 of my kids (including my grown daughter, Jen), and my grandson. No complaints, so I will add the recipe to the cookbook. I don't like to add any that I haven't made myself.
Thanks, Shelby! Glad you liked it!

My 2 older kids and one of their friends was here to try it too. DD loves it, she can't handle too sweet things,
It was really easy to make, and very good,

Gayle,
DD wanted to make these for a get together after church tonight. We tripled the recipe and she took them to church.
Everyone loved them, and wants the recipe.

Cool, Shelby! I'm glad these are going over so well.
I found the recipe on the old Countryside Cooking and Crafts forum. It looked pretty easy and used only basic ingredients, which is a good thing when you want something quick and it has to be chocolate.

well, it is good. I frost my one cake with this, just bigger portions of everything, and I eat what is left.
