On this site is a program where you can choose your state and season and it will bring up a page that tells you what's in season. In addition, it also has a search feature where you can find local growers. The program originally appeared on the National Resource Defense Council, and there's a link on the site, but you might not want to go there if you have a tendency toward high blood pressure. The site I'm linking to is a lot more innocuous. It's an ECO site, so expect some propaganda. www.sustainabletable.org/shop/seasonal/

I guess it would have been nice if I'd told you the name of the site - Sustainable Table.

A couple of weekends ago I was in Walmart in sporting goods, Timmy and Nate were looking at rifles and we were talking to Mike. The Amish guy from the stand came in to get bullets. We were talking and I asked him if he had any produce yet. He was already selling tomatoes and squash. I'm making a stop there tomorrow morning to get some summer squash to go with my zucchini.
