1/2 lb of bacon 1 onion 32 oz of frozen green beans 2 T sugar 2 T white vinegar salt & pepper to taste Cut the bacon into small pieces (about 1"). Chop the onion and put with the bacon. Use a pan big enough to hold all the green beans. Cook the bacon and onions together over medium heat, stirring often, until the bacon is very crunchy and the fat has been rendered out. Set the bacon and onions aside. Pour off most of the grease, but leave enough to flavor the beans well. Add the beans to the bacon grease and cook until they are as done as you like them. Add the bacon and onions to the beans, add the vinegar and sugar and stir that up pretty good. Salt and pepper to taste, and return the beans back to the stove to simmer just a few minutes. It helps the vinegar taste better. Pour in a nice dish and serve. This recipe came from www.southernplate.com. It is fantastic! My family doesn't like onion chunks, so I skipped the onion and added a couple teaspoons of onion powder when I put the beans in to cook. That worked out fine. We will definitely be having these again!

Think that would work with fresh green beans?
