German Dumplings
1 loaf French bread, torn into bite-size pieces 1 cup flour 2 eggs 1 t. salt milk
Place bread in large bowl. Add flour, egg, and salt. Blend in enough milk so that mixture holds together.
Form into balls the size of tangerines. Drop into boiling water until they are done in the middle. Cut them open to be sure.
IMPORTANT Before you start boiling them, boil one to make sure it won't fall apart. Adjust recipe, if necessary.
Recipe serves 4, but can be doubled or tripled.
These are good cut in half and covered in gravy.

I wondered the same thing, Valerie.
I made these tonight. I've made them many times before and can't, for the life of me, figure out why it supposedly serves four. Three of us ate tonight and barely made a dent in them. Maybe it should be serves 14.
