I just now found this, thanks Gayle,
It will come in handy once we move, oldest DD and I found out last time we were out in CO that when they say to add the extra whatever for high altitude cooking they mean it.
We made the biggest biscuits in our baking history, Regular sized drop biscuits blew up like a big old balloon, they were huge, LOL

Seems like that would save on flour. Or does it affect the texture or taste? I'm at about 1,200 feet. The only thing I've had to change is my cooking temps on candy. I can never remember if I have to cook it less or more time, so I quit using the candy thermometer and just test in cold water. It usually comes out fine.

Let's just say they were very airy and light, didn't taste the greatest, only cause you seemed to be eating air. LOL

I'd have to try making a chiffon or angel food cake, without adjusting the recipe, just to see what it would do.

I'm not really in the mountains here - more like the foothills. Even the mountains in KY are nothing compared to the Rockies.

The Rockies are just beautiful Gayle. We have one photo from CO as our screen saver,

I agree, they ARE beautiful - from a distance. (I hate driving in them! Or any mountains, for that matter.)
