I'm printing this. In the past, I bought formula to feed them. This will be so much better because I usually have all those items in the house. Thank you!

I couldn't believe how much they wanted for formula at "The Mart"! Hope this helps!

Rosie will be 6 years old in April so it's been quite a while since I've bottle fed a kitten. I started bottle feeding her at 2 1/2 weeks when she was taken from her mama by our dog Sissy. She was the survivor, 2 other kittens were found dead. I chose to bottle feed her instead of giving her back to Blackie because Blackie was feral. To get to the bottle feeding, I started out using KMR. She did ok for a week or two, then started getting very constipated. At first I was wondering if she had a possible nerve problem with the bowel because of being a rumpy Manx. It turned out to be the formula. She wasn't quite ready for cat food, but I had to get her off the KMR. I used diluted evaporated milk with corn syrup added in. Then I would give her a glob of supplement that had vitamins and minerals in it. At around 4 to 5 weeks I started giving her tiny bits of canned food, then mixed her milk with canned food. I then gradually added dry food to her diet and lessened the mix. Oh, and that little brat hung onto a bottle until she was nearly 9 weeks old. The only problems with her now is she is a 10# brat cat that thinks I'm her mama and doesn't know she's a cat. I think I'll also print off that formula in case I ever have to feed other tiny kittens in the future. Susan
