Yep. We've had it less than a year.

Was there a warranty? You need to get that thing out of there.

There is a warranty, but we haven't found it yet. It would probably be easier to find if we actually looked for it. Seriously, I know where it is, just haven't dug it out yet. I don't know if I want to fix it. I don't think I'd ever trust it again. It scares me. Right now we have the breaker for it turned off so it's not dangerous at the moment... unless it's like the Terminator.

Just tried this with farm eggs. Can't peel them at all and the yolks are too soft for hard-cooked. I might try it again with storebought eggs, but definitely not with farm eggs.

There is a warranty, but we haven't found it yet. most folks know that warranties all have time limitations in the fine print but overlook the mileage cap -

Unlike my van, which is more than 10 years old and hasn't hit the mileage limit yet, the stove might have died of premature old age. I really drove that thing into the ground. Now I'm working on the toaster oven.

I think most people don't cook the way you do, Gayle! They really should give you a new stove, not try to repair that one.

Dan said he doesn't want another GE, which is what they would give us. He told me to go buy a new one. I ain't gonna argue.
Almost forgot - got our first egg today. It froze and broke, though (it's snowing and windy, so no surprise) It's a start.

I'd take what I could get on the warranty and then sell the GE. Use that money as part of the payment for the stove you want.
You need a professional range, I think.
