I had to buy chicken feed today and the price has went up again .I will be paying $14.49 abag for layer mash and $12.98 for scratch. There was a sign that said this is due to the drought. How much is feed in your area? These are 40lb. bags.

I can get a 50# bag of FRM for $13, or a 50# of Purina layer pellets for $16. I prefer the Purina, though, because they seem to eat it slower. They scarf right through that FRM. Also, the FRM uses byproducts from a brewery in their feed, which is probably fine, but I don't think the Purina uses byproducts. I hope. Funny thing is, when it gets hot in the shed, the FRM kinda has a yeasty beer smell.

I don't buy regular chicken feed or laying mash, so I don't know the price. I'll check on that the next time I go to the feed store.
I buy wild bird feed. I don't know the price of that, either, because I needed it so I bought it. I didn't really have the time, money, or storage space to go to the mill and get some mixed. I have to buy over 500 lbs when I buy it there. They mix it to my specifications. I know it's cheaper there than at the feed store because they sell to the feed store.
