She hatched 7. The last two eggs didn't hatch. One hadn't broken the shell so I brought it in and candled and it had pipped into the air space but died without hatching. The other had a broken shell, was near to hatch but died. Probably too weak. Still 7 out of 9 is a lot better than I ever do with the incubator.

I have the four in a tote in the kitchen with an electric hen. Had to get a larger box for the hen since I was using a small box for some bantams last time. Doesn't take the baby birds long to figure out to use the hen. Anyhow, when I came out this morning I looked in and one baby goose was outside the hen. He looked up and saw me and gave a startled "hoot", then started talking to me. I like to hold them some, they nestle down in my hand and talk, but don't struggle to get away at this age. When they get bigger they don't like being held as much and I don't force it.
