OK, y'all know Rose is broody, right? In a different post, I mentioned how Turk stole her eggs two times one evening. Well, since that day, she will not stay on those eggs. She still insists on hopping up to the nest box and sitting on whichever eggs the other girls have laid.
Does she know something I don't know about those eggs in her nest? Should I chuck them and start her over with some fresh? She was doing fine sitting in that nest until Turk took her eggs. It's like she just doesn't want those ones now.
What do y'all think?
Oh yeah, Turk is doing just fine with her own little clutch of eggs. She's not messing with Rose's at all now.

I'd try sneaking those eggs under Turk and let Rose set on the new ones.

I went out a little bit ago to shut their door and check on everyone. Rose was sitting on her own nest! She needs to make up her little chicken mind!

No, she just jumps up in any old nest box and sits on whichever eggs are there until I come and take them in. I keep moving her off and then she picks a different one. I'm fixing to go out there in a few minutes and see what she's up to this morning.

When a hen does that she needs to be isolated so there is no other option but the one nest. Otherwise she will let the eggs chill, the embryo dies and the egg rots.

I was wondering if that might be the case, Kim. I think I'll just take her nest out and chuck those eggs. It's been about a week and a half. She'll probably get over her broodiness any day.
