These are the best burgers I've ever eaten!
Bacon Burgers
2 lbs. lean ground beef (I used ground round) 1 lb. bacon
Grind bacon or pulse it in the food processor until fine. Mix with ground beef.
Form into 1/4 pound patties and cook in a hot pan until golden brown and well-done (don't worry, they'll stay juicy)
Alternately, form into balls and smash on a hot pan with the back of a sturdy spatula. Cook until brown and turn. Brown second side.
Since these are so juicy it's best to butter and toast the buns so they don't get soggy.
You can add cheese, if you like. Serve with whatever condiments suit you.

I had some of the burger mix leftover from last night, so I made it into patties for breakfast sandwiches (with egg and cheese). Best breakfast sandwich EVER!

This recipe jacks the price of hamburgers WAY up! hamburger is $2.58 lb. (on sale) plus the cost of bacon @ $3.00 for 12 oz. Yikes, I could buy ribeyes cheaper.

It cost me about $4 a pound ($3.50 a lb for 2 lbs of ground round, total $7, and $5 a lb for the bacon) I made 1/4 lb hamburgers at $1 each. The buns were $1.19 for 8, or about 15 cents apiece. That works out to $1.15 per burger - much cheaper than any fast food I can get and I don't have to drive an hour to get it.
Ribeye is $6 a pound here - on sale.
This isn't something I would have weekly, though, because it's too fattening. Still, it was delicious for a once-in-a-while treat.
