We had this dessert tonight that I can't begin to pronounce, and I didn't see it in writing. So I'll describe it, and please tell me if you have any idea what it is... It had a thin (maybe 1"), buttery cake, maybe like a homemade sponge cake. The cake was split in half. Between the layers was a thick (like 1 1/2 inches) of filling that was pudding and whipped cream mixed (real cream I could tell by the taste) and it was probably more cream than pudding -- very light and fluffy. On top was a solid layer of sliced almonds, and it felt/tasted like the whole thing may have been drizzled with some type of a thin syrup. What the lady called it sounded like Almond Sticks, but her accent was pretty heavy, and I don't think that's what it really was. So, does this sound like anything? Oh, and it was like Heaven on a plate!!!
