Does it ever go bad? I have a bag, never opened that the only thing resembling an expiration date on it is some letters and numbers followed by a space and 08. It looks fine and I'm thinking about using it in some baking. What do you all think?

I think it should be fine as long as there are no bugs in it. I once opened a bag several years old and there was some kind of moths in it. You might have to sift it.

Thanks. It looks fine from the outside. I'll see what it looks like when I open the bag. I have a new bag, but I don't want to waste this one if it can still be used.

If it is lumpy throw it in the food processor for a few minutes.

Smell it and taste it before you make anything with it. We've had it get a weird stale taste before, and it stayed with whatever we made out of it. Might have been from the heat, I don't know. But now, I always smell it and taste it first.
