I got 50# of red potato seeds today.guess you know we are going to eat alot of potatoes. well, I got tired of these store bought ones this year, that were half rotten. so I bought a bad of red seed potatoes. cost me almost 20$. but i don't care.

I love homegrown potatoes. We used to grow Yukon Gold. Debi, this is how we grew them. Just used a hoe and "dug" a 2" line. Dropped the eyes in, covered them up with the dirt and covered it with straw. No digging that way. Just push the straw over with the hoe and grab your potatoes. I miss them.

That how we do potatoes too.. we going to have a freeze tonight tomorrow and Snow on Monday we been covering things up like crazy ..

I never used straw, but might this year, you just plant them , then cover with straw, and probably keep adding straw, sounds easy enough. might just try it.
