This is a pleasant, buttery sauce that doesn't overwhelm vegetables, fish, or chicken.
Butter Sauce
1/4 c. butter 2 T. all-purpose flour 1 cup hot water salt, pepper, and/or lemon pepper to taste
Melt butter in small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for a minute or two. Stir in hot water and continue cooking and stirring until mixture comes to a boil and thickens. Season to taste.
Makes 1 cup.
