Snickerdoodle Muffins
2/3 cup vegetable shortening, such as Crisco 2 cups sugar 2 eggs 3 cups flour 1 t. baking powder 1 t. salt 1/2 t. nutmeg or cake spice 1 cup milk Topping*
Cream shortening and sugar. (I used an electric mixer for the whole recipe) Add eggs and beat well. Mix dry ingredients and add alternately with milk.
Put into greased muffin tins, sprinkle with topping, and bake at 350, 20-30 minutes.
Makes 2 dozen
*Topping
1/4 cup sugar mixed with 1/2 t. cinnamon
