This doesn't sound like much, but it's delicious! I used it on chicken breasts that I cooked under the broiler. They were a big hit.
Alabama White Barbecue Sauce
Preparation time: 5 minutes Cooking time: None Yield: About 2 cups
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise 1/2 cup white vinegar 2 tablespoons lemon juice 2 tablespoons white sugar 1 tablespoon ground black pepper 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish 1 teaspoon salt
Whisk all ingredients together until smooth. (I measured them into a jar and shook it)
Note: Baste chicken and ribs in the final minutes of grilling and serve as a dipping sauce. Store this sauce in the fridge for a night or so, and the horseradish flavor becomes more apparent.

Yum, this sounds so good. Anything with horseradish in it is good to me.

The horseradish didn't stand out very much. Since you like it, you might want to use a tablespoon, instead of a teaspoon. I don't love it, but I don't think that would be too much. Maybe start with a teaspoon, then add it till it tastes good to you.

How do you think it would be without the horseradish? A waste of time? I'm not a fan of horseradish and would hate to buy a jar just for the dab it would take to make this, so what if I left it out?

I don't think it would hurt a thing to leave it out. Most of the flavor comes from the vinegar and pepper anyway - at least it did when I made it with the amount of horseradish the recipe calls for.
