I ended up with 16 and a half pints of good, strong broth and they all sealed. Now I just have to find someplace to store them.

That's great Gayle!
I toasted ANOTHER dehydrator. I guess with only spending $2 on it it shouldn't have expected much.

LOL, M, you remind me of the year I fried 4 of them! They just don't make 'em like they used to, and probably never did.

I canned coffee yesterday. I think I did about 5 quarts. Now I have a case of it. That's all I'm going to do. That should be enough for a short power outage. I know that sounds like a lot, but at least 3 of us drink it, four if Tim is here.

A friend gave me a few morels yesterday. It wasn't enough for a meal, so I dehydrated them to put in a sauce later.

Froze a gallon bag of green beans and a gallon bag of broccoli yesterday. I partially froze them on trays, first, then put them in the bags so I can just dump out what I need when I'm ready.

Little late posting it, but all the rest of my pumpkins and squashes are in the freezer. It took me a couple of days, but I cut, baked and pureed them. It was just getting too warm for them and I didn't want to lose any of them.

I've been drying rose petals for rose oil and honeysuckle blossoms and leaves for tea and medicine.
I've also made rose water and honeysuckle syrup (medicinal and for flavoring teas or cold drinks)

I canned 22 quarts of green beans and 6 quarts of squash. Tomorrow I'll finish the squash. I should get 21 more.

I canned 3 pints and 1 half pint of pickled banana peppers. Not much, but I'm thrilled. Oh yeah, one jar has a bonus - 4 okras. I didn't want them to go bad waiting on more to come.

I'm still drying herbs. Now it's comfrey and bee balm.
I did not forget about the comfrey I was sending everyone. Things just got a little out of hand. I'll send it as soon as it's safe to mail it again. As near as I can tell, I only have a small window of opportunity each year.

Gayle, what do you do with dried bee balm? Mine is growing really good, and I have dried a little bit, but I don't really know what to do with it.

Thanks! Wow! After reading that, I think I'll use bee balm in my next batch of mouthwash instead of plain mint. I need to get drying a whole lot more of it, too.

I've got another big bunch of blooms nearly ready to pick. They'll probably be ready in the morning. I might pick a quart or so of leaves, too. Gotta make hay while the sun shines.
Oh, that reminds me, I've been letting cut grass dry and gathering that to use as hay for the chickens, too. I'm tying it in bundles and storing it in the shed. Since I started putting that in their nesting boxes, they've been laying better.
