I haven't made this yet, but it sounds good. I'm making it tonight. I'll let you know how I liked it.
One Dish Chicken Rice Bake
1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 can water 1 cup uncooked rice 1/4 t. each paprika and black pepper 4 medium boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
Heat oven to 375°. In a 2 quart shallow baking dish, mix soup, rice, paprika, pepper, and water. Place chicken on rice mixtre. Sprinkle with additional paprika. Bake for 50 minutes or until done.
After about 45 minutes, I'm going to add some shredded Colby cheese.

When I was making this, I accidentally poured in too much pepper. In a double recipe, I guess I put about a tablespoon. It was delicious! We like peppery food, so it was good to us. I'd do the same thing next time.
This was very easy to make and it's good. I'll make it again. Next time, I might try making it in the crockpot.

Dont make this in the crockpot. I forgot until it was too late that I tried to do something like this before and decided I dont like rice or noodles cooked all day in the crockpot. What I wound up with was a very thick gravy, the rice decentegrated, and cooked chicken. Tomorrow I'll put some mixed veggies in it and a crust on it and call it pot pie.

Aw, man. Sorry you had to be the guinea pig. That's too bad.

I'm thinking that after a night in the ice box I'll be able to slice and fry what was left under the chicken I dont mind being the guinea pig. There are several recipes in the fix it and forget it cookbook that are similar. I didnt pay attention to how long they cooked it. Sure is strange looking stuff.

The rice is supposed to absorb nearly all of the liquid. I wonder why it didn't do that in the crockpot. My rice tasted like chicken gravy (probably from all that pepper), but without the gravy. It was moist, but not saucy.

I think if you want to cook rice in the CP it needs to be brown rice. Has anyone tried that??

I wish I'd read this earlier. I would have tried it. I'll bet that would work, but you might need to add a little more water.
