Did most of the piecing when I was working private duty. Years later put it all together and hand quilted it.

Oh, CC that is beautiful! I love the color blue so it's even more beautiful. I've only seen that pattern worked by one other person many years ago. Susan

Thank you. I'm thinking of putting a sleeve on it so I can hang it in the living room. Can't bear to put it on the bed and take a chance of getting something on it.

Thank you Gayle. It is a very old pattern, but I usually see it with green between the blocks. I started off with green and decided I didn't like it so pulled all the green and used white instead.

I really like the white with the blues. It gives it such a crisp, clean look.

Thank you, Doris. Yes, all hand pieced and hand quilted. The hexagons were rather challenging!

I've seen it put together with green and called Grandmothers Flower Garden. Its one of my favorite patterns. BUT Ive never seen it like this. This is absolutely beautiful in these different shades of blue.

I can imagine... I think if I make hexagons, none of them would fit ... it be hard to put them together and match the corners.
Meemo, isn't that an awesome quilt... I love the colors too. I think I have seen the pattern you are talking about too.

Thank you, Susan. Blue is my favorite color too.
Doris, I used a hard plastic template and drew a line around it. Then I cut all the pieces out, leaving a 1/4 inch seam allowance. All I had to do was line up the ends of each marked seam and sew down the line.
