The recipe I have calls for gelatin, so I did a search and found these two. I can't vouch for them, since I haven't tried either of them.
WHIPPED TOPPING 1
1/2 c. instant non-fat dry milk 1/2 c. ice water 2 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Chill small bowl and beaters. Combine milk powder with ice water in bowl. Beat until stiff. Add sugar and vanilla. Serve immediately.
WHIPPED TOPPING 2
1/2 c. instant dry milk 1/2 c. cold water 1/2 tsp. lemon juice or vanilla flavoring 2 tbsp. sugar
Mix the instant milk and water. Beat to soft peak stage, about 4 minutes, at medium speed. Add the lemon juice or vanilla and beat for 7 minutes more on medium speed. Add the sugar and beat 1 minute more.

awesome... I'll try them and let you know.... I think I like the second one better. I don't have icewater... and instead of instant dry milk, I have to use coffee creamer. I'll keep you posted. Thank you

Doris, you can make whipped topping from creamer. Here's the recipe~
Whipped Topping from Non-Dairy Creamer
1 cup of Non-Dairy Creamer 1/4 cup of cold water 1 tablespoon lemon juice 3 tablespoons of powder or confectioners' sugar
Before starting, put the small mixing bowl and the beaters in the refrigerator to chill. You want them good and cold to make this topping.
In the small chilled bowl, combine one cup of non-dairy creamer, 1/4 cup of water and one tablespoon of lemon juice.
Using the chilled beaters, beat on high speed about one minute or until soft peaks form.
Gradually beat in three tablespoons of powdered or confectioners sugar; continue beating about 2 minutes or until stiff peaks form.
Chill. The mixture stiffens after chilling. Stir to fluff it up before serving. Serve on cake, pie, fruit salad or pudding. Refrigerate any left-overs. Makes about one and half cups.

I make mine with homemade whipped cream with a drop or so of vanilla. Oh my, it's so good.
