For my second post here I would like to share a simple marinade that is very popular with my family & friends. I use it on lots of things like steaks, chicken, shrimp & venison. Personally most teriyaki sauce in stores tastes a bit to soy saucy & salty to me. One large can of pineapple juice One small bottle of soy sauce One cup of brown sugar 1/4 to a 1/2 cup sliced ginger root depending on your taste I just heat it up on the stove & let some of the ginger root permeate. Then pour off what you need for marinade & let that cool in the frig. Add a lil corn starch to what ya have left & warm it up & stir till it starts to thicken. Let that cool & keep it in the frig till you are ready to cook. Depending on what you are cookin & how, you may want to wait to put glaze on your meat till its close to being done in case it might burn if you are grillin. You can also try this with different juices like orange or guava if you can find it. Hope that anyone that tries it likes it. I made some venison tenderloin this winter & put some cooked chunks of pineapple with glaze on it & everyone at the table that didn't know we were eating Bambi till they were done said it was incredible & wanted the recipe

I will definitely try this. I dont like the store bought teryaki sauce for the same reason you dont. I like soy sauce but the other tastes too strong. This stuff sounds good.

meemo lemme know whatcha think. I am one of those cooks that instead of remembering recipes I just bring things to taste or however you describe that professionally. All you have to do with this one is tweak it your way but its a good benchmark for starters.

That does sound good! I wish I'd seen it earlier so I could have used it on my chicken tonight.
