Never-Fail Pie Crust contributed by chilipalmer
3 c. flour 1 tsp salt 1 and 1/4 c. shortening 1 egg 1 tbsp vinegar 5 tbsp water (or as needed)
With a fork, blend salt and flour. Mix in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. In a separate bowl beat together vinegar, egg and three tablespoons water. Add wet to dry, mixing and adding the other tbsps water if needed. Chill to firm up before rolling. Makes two single-shell 9" pie crusts.
