I dripped a tiny bit of vinegar into the sugar bowl today, but didn't scoop it out right away. By the time I got around to scooping it out, it had hardened into a little lump, so I ate it. It was good! That's when I came up with the idea to try making candy out of it and it turned out good, too. The kids all think it's lemon. It does taste like it.
Vinegar Candy
2 cups sugar 1/2 cup apple cider or white vinegar (I used apple cider)
Put ingredients into a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Don't stir. Continue cooking, without stirring, to hard crack stage. Immediately pour into well-greased cookie sheet. Allow to cool about 3 or 4 minutes, then spread evenly to edges of pan. Let cool completely, then crack into bite-size pieces (I used the handle of a butter knife to crack it)
Dust with either powdered or granulated sugar, to keep it from sticking together. Store in an airtight container.
